MRCP PACES Clinical Course NEUROPASS Neurology and Ophthalmology

MRCP PACES Clinical Course

Saturday 25th September 2010 at the Royal Free Hospital, Hampstead, London

This course was the first of its kind, established in 1999. This is an intensive one day course that will fully prepare candidates for the Neurology and Ophthalmology stations, the most difficult aspects of the PACES examination.

Teaching takes place in a setting akin to PACES with the new marking system including new station 5 with integrated clinical assessment.

We teach a systematic approach to the clinical case aiming to improve technique of the neurological, ophthalmological and fundoscopic examination. Candidates are instructed how to examine patients, interpret clinical signs, formulate a diagnosis or a differential diagnosis and discuss appropriate investigations and a management plan.

Tutors are neurologists and ophthalmologists who have skills in teaching and are selected based on their performance rated by candidates from previous courses.

Candidates are posted a guide on ‘how to approach the clinical exam’ in advance and on the day are provided with a wallet of some neurological examination equipment.
